Stipend: R 4,407.00 per month
We are seeking motivated youth who would like to enrol in our 12-month barista learnership programmes. Students will learn everything there is to know about coffee. You will receive training in food safety and customer service, as well as upskilling to the level of a barista. Additionally, you will get knowledge about different types of coffee as well as pertinent product preparation and presentation methods.
Position Description:
Preparation and presentation of all coffee and related products.
To oversee the Barista section over the entire shift.
Proper use, sterilization, and cleaning of all equipment.
Obeying the hygienic and safety regulations of the business.
Preparing coffee or other beverages:
Must regularly receive and inspect all ingredients and raw materials from the store and refrigerators in compliance with protocols.
To cook the following every day following the guidelines and recipes.
Before creating orders in compliance with protocols, the following machinery and equipment must be cleaned, sterilised, filled, and connected.
Cleaning functions:
Should scrupulously follow all housekeeping and hygienic guidelines pertaining to the soft serve area, including the cleaning schedules for the following (but not all of them): Windows, floors, cupboards, refrigerators, and walls – Worktops and so forth.
At the conclusion of the day, all machinery and equipment must be emptied, cleaned with water, sterilised, and disconnected in compliance with protocols.
To follow protocol and put any extra supplies or ingredients in Tupperware in the refrigerator at the end of the day.
General Purposes:
Should always abide by the company’s policies regarding customer relations wherever possible.
To offer assistance in any additional areas of the company upon request and in compliance with policies and guidelines.
To follow the company’s safety policies and promptly report any accidents that may arise in compliance with policies and guidelines.
should always be on time and adhere to business policies on minimal absence.
Should scrupulously follow the dress code guidelines as announced by the business, making sure that uniforms are constantly kept tidy and clean.
To carry out any additional reasonable duties that Management may assign.
Several provinces are home to this job.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
No criminal record
Unemployed
Basic computer literacy skills, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Age criteria 18-28 years old.
Have not been in a YES Programme in the past
Should not be studying full-time in the year of employment (1 October 2024 – 30 September 2025)
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods
Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Skills
Willingness to keep learning and improving one’s coffee-making skills.
Excellent communication and listening abilities. a strong command of the English language.
The capacity to stand for extended periods of time, walk, and bend.
Ability to work shifts and at off-peak times, such as weekends, holidays, early mornings, and nights.
