This four years nursing programme is designed to help the unemployed and disadvantaged youth of South African to become nurses in Germany.
Candidates who make it to the shortlist will enroll in a demanding four-year program that begins in South Africa. The first year ,which will begin in South Africa, is devoted to training the candidates for a prospective apprenticeship in Germany. As students will be studying and living in German institutions, they will be required to take a B2 level (Business German), which is a German course at the Goethe-Institut in this year. Additionally, the staff members will need to do caregiving duties at Park Care Homes and The German Senior Residence in order to advance their geriatric nursing expertise. They are full-fledged workers of The Order of St. John and do earn a stipend from the uNowonga Programme’s sponsors in exchange for their labor.
After completing the language course satisfactorily, the participants will begin their training in Germany. The institution they are accepted to will cover the cost of the apprenticeship in Germany.
