The Department of Community Safety is hiring CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS

The Government invites the youth who are physically fit and agile, and want to help elleviate crime in the areas they live in.

Requirements to qualify:

– Passed Grade 12/ Matric

– Fit and agile.

– It will be an added advantage for a candidate if they have a Driver’s License, and prior safety and security training

– It will be an added advantage if you had participated in the department’s volunteer programmes

– Clear criminal record or any pending cases.

– Be prepared to undergo training both theory and physical training.

– Be prepared to work shifts (24/7).

– Knowledge and Skills Communication (verbal and written)

Duties/ Key Performance Areas:

– Crime prevention, stop and search, arrest, attend to complaints, maintain law and order and traffic control.

– Candidates will be under supervision during training.

When submitting the Z83 form, you must attach an updated CV including previous and / or current volunteer participation. The following documents must be attached: Matric Certificate, Identity Document and Proof of residence. You need not certify the documents; Only shortlisted candidates will be requested to certify documents. Please be sure to clearly specify the ward number (Gauteng Township, Informal Settlement and Hostels) next to the reference number. Applicants that do not meet the specified requirements, missing accompanying and/or submit the application late, they will not be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will receive communication regarding the application outcomes. Shortlisted candidates will undergo physical assessment to test their levels of fitness for the job. Thereafter, they will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification and employment verification).
