REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12/Matric Certificate. Must be computer literate. Recommendation letter of nomination as an Independent Correctional Centre Visitor by a community organization that is not older than six (6) months. Ability to work both as a team and independently. Sound knowledge of the Batho Pele principles. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Driver’s license will be an added advantage. Applications from individuals residing in the communities not far from the correctional centre with the advertised posts will be given preference.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Participants will be responsible to conduct visits at correctional centres and report urgent matters. Conduct interviews and consultations with inmates and DCS officials about complaints and mandatory matters. Receiving and capturing all complaints and/or requests on the database. Opening and maintenance of case files. Make follow-ups on outstanding complaints. Submission of monthly reports. Provide statistical analysis of all complaints received. Attend to enquiries. Carry out all reasonable instructions by the supervisor/ Regional Manager.
