NOTE: Permanent employment after completing the training is not guaranteed, however, should there be vacant posts after completing the training, individuals may be offered employment.
You may select only one Centre of preference closest to your residential area in the application questions. Provincial Traffic Law Enforcement provides a 24/7 traffic law enforcement service, therefore after appointment candidates will be expected to work shifts as well as Public holidays and Sundays and be willing to work additional hours, if required.
Successful candidates must obtain their own accommodation while attending at GLTC Brackenfell and will be responsible for their own transport, meals and accomodation fee for the duration of the 12 month course
Students will be subject to the code of conduct of the College as well as competency requirements of the College
Students will be required to undergo extensive physical training, whilst at the College.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics, Mathematics literacy, English and a additional language with 50% or higher pass mark
Valid motor vehicle license (manual) code B (learners licenses will not be accepted)
Applicants must be 18 and under 35 years of age
Applicant must be medically and physically fit
Clear criminal record or no pending criminal record
No visible tattoos (hands, arms, upper chest, neck or face) and body piercings (except females with one piercing in each ear)
Be able to communicate with the home language of the majority of residents in a specific area where the successful incumbents will be appointed
Shortlisted candidates will be subject to undergo fingerprint checks by the SAPS and will be required to undergo the following tests: interview, knowledge test, fitness, driving test and a medical test as proof that the reserved candidates may do strenuous exercise
Successful candidates will undergo a full medical, psychological, drug assessment at a provincial testing facility prior to admission
Undergo fitness and drug testing assessments for the duration of the course.
Applicants must be resident in the immediate vicinity of their selected traffic centres, if appointed afterwards.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
One year or more driving experience will be an advantage
DUTIES:
Trainees must successfully complete the further education and Training Certificate Road Traffic Law Enforcement.
Adherence to the terms and conditions of the signed 12 month contract for the duration of the training program which includes practical deployment on a 24/7 shift system when needed.

Good written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Province
Good interpersonal and public relations skills
Ability to work under pressure
Assertive and confident personality
Ability to work in a team and independently
Must have skills for compiling reports
REMUNERATION:
Trainees will be paid a stipend of R 5 000.00 per month for the duration of the training period
The training will be offered in the following location – Western Cape: Beaufort West, Caledon, George, Knysna, Laingsburg, Metro (Cape Town), Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Swellendam, Vredenburg, Vredendal and Worcester.
This is a twelve (12) month training course which will commence on Monday, 8 January 2024 at the Gene Louw College (GLTC), Brackenfell.
