SANBI Horticultural SANBI Horticultural Conservation Worker with Grade 10
The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking self-motivated individuals to effectively maintain the garden estate and contribute to conservation efforts at the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden.
This position requires:
– Grade 10, a job-specific qualification, or an equivalent qualification at NQF 2 with 2 years of work experience in the relevant field; or
– Grade 12, a job-specific qualification, or an equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 1 year of experience in the relevant field of nature or plant conservation.
– A Higher Education Qualification at NQF 5 will be an added advantage.
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess the following competencies:
– Interpersonal skills
– The ability to communicate in English (read and write)
– Horticultural or conservation training
– Knowledge of garden-related maintenance work and the use of pesticides and insecticides
Key Performance Responsibilities:
– Provide support in garden planning, development, and maintenance
– Propagate plants and maintain the garden
– Assist in managing equipment and tools
– Support internal and external clients
– Adhere to health and safety requirements
