Description of the role:
The Department of Infrastructure and National Home Building Registration Council (NHBRC) of the Western Cape Government (WCG) is encouraging qualified Bluedowns residents to apply for training opportunities in the construction sector. Participating in a public or private TVET College training program that includes both theoretical and practical training. Practical include: laboring in a school or on a construction site, enforcing health and safety laws, maintaining work areas.
Minimum specifications:
– Blue Downs residents in the Cape Metro area;
– Females aged 18 to 34;
– General residential repair: Grade 9 / NQF L2.
Additional prerequisites:
– Candidates must be in good health and consent to a medical and drug-abuse evaluation.
As a requirement of the training program, successful applicants will be expected to work on a construction site or maintenance project.
The successful candidates will have to sign a six- to twelve-month Training Agreement and be willing to travel to work at different building sites throughout the Western Cape.
